Uniguest and Extreme Networks Integrate to Automate Signage Network Setup
2026-11-03 · via invidis

Uniguest and Extreme Networks have built an integration that lets Uniguest media players automatically identify themselves to Extreme network infrastructure and pull predefined settings, cutting out much of the manual configuration that network administrators normally handle device by device. For anyone managing screens across a stadium, arena or large campus, that means adding or relocating a player no longer requires touching the switch configuration for each new connection.
The integration links Uniguest's Hub AV platform, the product formerly known as Tripleplay, with Extreme's Fabric Attach technology. According to the companies, this is aimed squarely at venues running hundreds or thousands of screens where network teams are constantly adding, moving or swapping out media players as events change.
That scenario is common in sports and entertainment venues, where the same screens might show live game coverage one night and switch to wayfinding, sponsor ads or concert promotional content the next. Chuck Brooks, Director of Ecosystems and Alliances at Extreme Networks, points to exactly this kind of operational churn as the reason automated configuration matters: an arena's signage demands change from event to event, and reconfiguring network ports manually for every change doesn't scale.
What's actually new
Beyond the automated onboarding, Uniguest and Extreme say they have validated Hub AV's IPTV and digital signage functions running on Extreme's infrastructure. That includes network failover, multicast delivery of IPTV streams to multiple screens at once, and synchronized playback across displays. These are the kinds of things that matter in venues where dozens or hundreds of screens need to show the same live feed in lockstep, and where a network hiccup during a live event is a visible failure, not a quiet backend issue.
The integration is positioned to complement Uniguest's existing Sports Hub product, but the companies also list corporate, hospitality and education as applicable markets, anywhere a large number of media players sit on a shared network and get moved around regularly.
What's missing
Pankaj Kulkarni, EVP of Product Management at Uniguest, frames the goal as reducing time and complexity in large-scale deployments, but neither company names a customer running this setup or a live project using it. There's also no detail in the announcement on which specific Uniguest media players are supported, what hardware or software versions on the Extreme side are required, or what the migration path looks like for venues already running Hub AV on non-Extreme network gear. For operators evaluating this, those are the practical questions that will determine whether the integration is a plug-in upgrade or a reason to standardize on a particular network vendor.

A new integration allows Uniguest media players to connect automatically to Extreme Networks infrastructure, reducing manual configuration for IPTV and digital signage installations.
Uniguest and Extreme Networks have introduced an integration designed to simplify the installation and management of IPTV and digital signage systems, particularly in large venues with hundreds or thousands of screens.
The integration connects Uniguest’s Hub AV platform, formerly known as Tripleplay, with Extreme Fabric Attach technology. Supported media players can identify themselves to the network and automatically receive predefined settings, eliminating much of the manual configuration normally required when adding devices.
For network administrators, this means they can connect or relocate new media players without configuring each network connection individually.
The integration is particularly relevant for stadiums, arenas and other facilities where digital signage, live television and venue information have to be distributed across extensive networks.
In these environments, screens may serve different purposes depending on the event, from live sports coverage and wayfinding to sponsor advertising and promotional content.
“An arena may host basketball one night and a sold-out concert the next, with different demands for signage, live video and sponsor content,” says Chuck Brooks, Director of Ecosystems and Alliances at Extreme Networks.
He says automated network configuration can help venue operators add or relocate screens with less manual work.
The integration complements Uniguest’s Sports Hub offering and also supports applications in corporate environments, hospitality and education.
Beyond automated device setup, the companies have validated Hub AV’s IPTV and digital signage capabilities on Extreme Networks infrastructure.
These include network failover capabilities, multicast IPTV delivery, which allows video streams to be distributed efficiently to multiple screens, and synchronized playback across displays.
Pankaj Kulkarni, EVP of Product Management at Uniguest, says the integration is intended to reduce the time and complexity involved in deploying large-scale digital signage and IPTV networks.
Neither company disclosed specific customer deployments or announced projects using the integration.
