Two Long-Serving Samsung UK Display Staff Depart Amid Layoffs

2026-08-21 · via DailyDOOH

Two long-tenured Samsung Electronics UK staff working on the commercial display side of the business have left the company, according to a report from DailyDOOH, amid what it describes as worldwide redundancies across Samsung's display divisions.

Paul Tippins, who DailyDOOH says spent ten years at Samsung and most recently held the title of Business Development Manager for End Users covering Stadiums & Venues, is reported to be gone. Gerry Goss, described as a 13-year Samsung veteran who most recently served as AV Channel Manager, has also departed.

DailyDOOH says Samsung has issued no official statement confirming the redundancies or the departures. The site bases its report on the pair's LinkedIn profiles, which it says show a vague employment status, something DailyDOOH interprets as a sign the two may be on garden leave rather than fully exited. That is speculation on DailyDOOH's part, not a confirmed fact, and Samsung has not commented publicly as of this report.

Why it matters to the display trade

Stadiums and venues, along with the AV channel, are meaningful pieces of Samsung's commercial display business in the UK. Tippins' end-user role touched large venue deployments, the kind of large-format LED and display projects that stadiums, arenas and similar spaces increasingly rely on. Goss's channel role would have touched Samsung's relationships with AV integrators and resellers who route Samsung displays into digital signage and control room projects.

If these departures are part of a broader reduction across Samsung's display divisions, as DailyDOOH suggests, that would be worth watching for anyone who buys, specs or resells Samsung commercial screens, since it could signal changes in how Samsung staffs its UK sales and channel operations going forward. The report gives no detail on the scale of the wider redundancies, which regions or business units are affected beyond the UK, or whether other roles in the display division are being cut.

Samsung has not made an official statement on any of this, according to DailyDOOH, so there is no confirmation of the reasons behind the moves, whether replacements are planned, or what it means for existing stadium, venue and AV channel accounts that Tippins and Goss managed. Readers with direct dealings with Samsung's UK stadium or AV channel teams may want to confirm their account contacts directly rather than relying on secondhand reports.

Paul Tippins and Gerry Goss Out Amid Samsung Layoffs

Paul Tippins , a (rare) 10 year veteran at Samsung Electronics UK has gone from his most recent post as Business Development Manager – End Users (Stadiums & Venues) and Gerry Goss (an even rarer 13 year Samsung veteran) who was most recently their AV Channel Manager has also gone.

This comes on the news of some worldwide redundancies across their display divisions. Their has been no official news on any of this BUT Paul and Gerry’s LinkedIN profiles both show a vague status, probably meaning they are on garden leave.
