Starlite Media Sues Creative Realities Over Defective Digital Displays
2026-10-28 · via DailyDOOH
Starlite Media LLC has filed a lawsuit against Creative Realities, Inc. (Nasdaq: CREX), alleging the company supplied defectively designed and constructed digital advertising displays and then refused to repair or replace them.
The case, filed in Hennepin County, Minnesota (Case # 27-CV-26-16896), accuses Creative Realities of what Starlite Media calls irresponsible and dishonest business practices. Starlite Media is pursuing nine separate claims: fraudulent misrepresentation, negligent misrepresentation, breach of implied warranty of merchantability, breach of implied warranty of fitness for a particular purpose, breach of contract, negligent design, strict product liability, unjust enrichment, and rescission.
Damages sought exceed $10 million, according to the filing. A hearing is scheduled for December 21, 2026.
The lawsuit does not specify which display products or hardware are at issue, how many units were affected, where they were deployed, or over what time period the alleged defects occurred. It also does not detail what repair or replacement remedies Starlite Media originally requested before escalating to litigation.
For operators and network owners, this is a reminder that warranty and service terms on large digital display deployments matter as much as the initial purchase price. Disputes over defective hardware and vendor responsiveness are not unique to any one supplier, but a claim of this size, if it proceeds to trial or settlement, could set a reference point for how courts weigh implied warranty obligations in commercial digital signage contracts.
Creative Realities has not issued a public response to the allegations as of this report. The case is at an early stage, and the claims in the complaint are allegations that have not been tested in court. Digital Signage Magazine will follow the docket for developments ahead of the December hearing.
