Sidemen-Founded Chain Sides Runs Digital Menus on NowSignage

2026-09-02 · via DailyDOOH

Sides, the fast-growing restaurant brand founded by YouTube group the Sidemen, is running its in-store digital signage on the NowSignage platform as it expands across the UK, according to the companies. For an operator adding sites in cities like Glasgow and Liverpool, the case study is a reminder of what a centralised CMS is actually supposed to solve: keeping menus and promotions identical across dozens of locations without a manual per-site update process eating into staff time.

According to NowSignage, Sides can roll out a campaign across its entire estate in under 15 minutes and maintains what the release calls 100% menu consistency across the business. The company also says the platform saves the Sides team up to an hour a day on uploading and updating content. Those are vendor-supplied figures and the announcement does not detail how they were measured, but they point to the two things chain operators in food service care about most: speed of rollout and reduction in manual labour.

The deployment also includes site readiness work with AV integrator Microman, which installs and configures screens ahead of each new store opening so locations are live on day one. That is a fairly standard model for multi-site QSR and fast-casual rollouts, where the CMS vendor and a local AV partner split software and installation duties.

On measurable results, the release cites a specific promotion at Lakeside Shopping Centre, where Sides used internal and external screens to push a staff discount offer and saw a 60% increase in redemptions in the first month of that digital push. Across the wider business, NowSignage and Sides say targeted screen promotions have contributed to an 18% increase in sales of promoted menu items. Again, these are figures supplied by the companies involved, with no independent methodology given, so they should be read as directional rather than audited.

What the announcement does not say is which hardware Sides is running, how many screens or sites are covered, or what the total estate size is today versus when the NowSignage deployment began. There is also no detail on integration with POS or kitchen systems, which is often the next question for a QSR chain scaling digital menu boards. For a Gen Z-facing brand built on rapid growth and frequent limited-time offers, the pitch here is straightforward: centralised control lets marketing push new campaigns fast without relying on individual store managers to update screens manually, and NowSignage is positioning this deployment as evidence that model works at scale in quick-service food retail.

As Sides continues to expand its UK footprint, the restaurant brand founded by YouTube collective the Sidemen is using NowSignage to help maintain a consistent brand experience across its growing estate.

Founded back in 2021, Sides has quickly built a distinctive identity centred around bold flavours, vibrant restaurants and a strong connection with its Gen Z audience. As the brand continues to grow, delivering the same engaging experience across every site has become increasingly important.

To support that growth, Sides uses NowSignage to manage its digital signage estate through one centralised platform, helping the team maintain brand consistency while creating engaging in-store experiences. From menu launches and limited time offers to promotional campaigns, screens help bring the personality of the brand to life.

The platform enables Sides to roll out campaigns across all sites in under 15 minutes, while maintaining 100% menu consistency across the business. NowSignage has also helped the team save up to one hour per day when uploading and updating content, giving them more time to focus on wider marketing activity.

“The NowSignage platform has been a huge support as Sides continues to grow,” said Georgia Hobson , Marketing Executive at Sides. “As we open new locations, having a platform that is reliable, flexible and easy to use is really important. The system makes it simple to manage content across our estate, whether we’re updating every store or targeting specific locations with different offers. The support from the NowSignage team has also been fantastic, helping us keep everything organised and easy for the team to manage.”

As Sides continues to grow, having the right processes in place has helped support the rollout of new sites. Working alongside AV partner Microman, screens are installed and configured ahead of opening, ensuring each new venue is ready to deliver the Sides experience from day one. This approach has been particularly valuable during recent launches in Glasgow and Liverpool.

Digital screens have also become an effective tool for supporting promotional activity. At Lakeside Shopping Centre, Sides used internal and external screens to promote a staff discount offer, resulting in a 60% increase in redemptions during the first month of digital promotion.

Rebecca Benson , Customer Success Manager at NowSignage, told us “Supporting Sides as they’ve expanded has been incredibly rewarding. From day one, our focus has been on making digital signage simple to manage, while helping the team deliver an engaging in-store experience that reflects the brand. We’re excited to continue working together as Sides grows and opens new sites across the UK.”

Across the wider business, targeted promotions displayed on screens have contributed to an 18% increase in sales of promoted menu items, demonstrating how digital experiences are supporting both customer engagement and commercial performance.
