Samsung Adds Smartify Ad Marketplace Into VXT Content Management System

Samsung Electronics America and Smartify Media have integrated Smartify's advertising platform directly into Samsung's VXT content management system, giving operators of Samsung commercial displays a built-in way to sell ad space on their screens without installing new hardware, according to a joint press release.
The integration is live now across the Smartify network, where displays running Samsung VXT can participate in Smartify's advertising marketplace, described in the release as a source of local, direct and national ad campaigns. Samsung is branding the feature Samsung VXT Ads, Powered by Smartify.
For operators, the pitch is straightforward: screens already deployed for menu boards, wayfinding, or promotional content become a passive revenue line without a hardware refresh or extra cost, per the release. That matters for retailers, restaurant chains, property owners and other businesses that have sunk money into commercial displays for operational purposes and have been looking for ways to offset that spend, or turn it into a profit center, without disrupting day-to-day screen management.
Samsung VXT is the company's cloud-native content and remote device management platform for commercial displays, competing with CMS offerings from vendors like BrightSign, Scala and others in the space. Smartify describes itself as a digital out-of-home and retail media network operating across North America. The release frames the deal as evidence of what it calls a broader convergence between digital signage and retail media, a trend that has been building as more brands look to buy ad inventory on screens outside traditional advertising channels.
"Commercial displays are rapidly evolving from operational tools into valuable media assets," said Joseph Kunigonis, CEO of Smartify, in the release. He said the integration creates "a frictionless monetization layer" that lets display owners tap into local, regional and national ad demand without changing how they run their screens.
Jonathan del Rosario, head of product for Samsung's display solutions division, said the partnership reflects "the growing convergence of digital signage technology and retail media" and is meant to help businesses get more value out of their display ecosystem.
The release does not spell out revenue share terms, which display models or VXT tiers are eligible, how advertisers are vetted, or what control operators have over ad content and frequency. It also does not say how many locations or screens are currently active in the marketplace, or whether the feature requires operators to opt in through a separate agreement with Smartify beyond their existing VXT subscription. Those details will matter to anyone deciding whether to flip the switch on their own display network.
