Perion Certifies DOOH Player on Velasea Hardware

Perion has struck a partnership with enterprise hardware provider Velasea that lets Velasea devices ship with Perion's DOOH player and ad server preinstalled and certified to run on them, according to the companies.
For publishers, the arrangement means a device arrives already configured to run Perion's software, rather than requiring a separate compatibility check and manual build before it goes into rotation. Perion says this removes a testing step that operators would otherwise have to carry out themselves before deploying new screens.
The companies frame this as a sourcing convenience rather than a technology change. Perion's player and ad server remain the software layer handling scheduling, playback, reporting and monetization, and that software already runs across a range of hardware. What changes is that publishers who want to buy screens and software together, or who are refreshing an aging fleet, now have a certified pairing to point to instead of working through compatibility questions on their own.
Perion is also listed as a CMS option within Velasea's own customer-facing materials, so buyers evaluating Velasea hardware will see Perion presented as a supported software path from the outset. That is a distribution benefit for Perion as much as a convenience for publishers: it puts the player in front of Velasea's hardware customers at the point of purchase.
What is not addressed
The announcement does not specify which Velasea hardware models are covered, whether the certification applies to a specific player range or all of Perion's DOOH software, or whether there is any pricing difference between buying the pairing versus sourcing hardware and software separately. The value is mainly procedural, cutting down the number of separate vendor relationships and validation steps a publisher has to manage when standing up new screens, which matters more the larger and more distributed an estate gets.

What they say this means for publishers…
Certified compatibility. The hardware has been validated against our player, so there is no separate testing exercise before rollout.
Preinstalled software. Units arrive configured, so screens can be mounted, connected, and put into rotation without a manual build per site.
A single sourcing route. Publishers who need hardware as well as software can get both without managing two procurement tracks.
An option, not a requirement. Publishers running existing hardware carry on exactly as they are. Nothing about Perion’s player changes.
To be clear about what this is: the technology doing the work is Perion’s player and ad server. That is where scheduling, playback, reporting, and monetization happen, and it runs across a wide range of hardware.
What is new is the option. For publishers who are buying screens and software at the same time, or refreshing an aging estate, there is now a certified pairing available rather than a compatibility question to work through on their own. It is a small piece of friction removed, and in a channel where operators are managing hundreds of endpoints across dozens of sites, small pieces of friction are worth removing.
Perion is also listed as a content management system (CMS) option for Velasea customers, so publishers evaluating Velasea hardware can see a supported software path from the start.
