One Equity Partners Buys Nexora, Parent of Almo Pro AV and Comm-Tec

One Equity Partners (OEP) has acquired ProAV distribution group Nexora, whose brands include Almo Pro AV and Comm-Tec. For digital signage operators and resellers, the deal is worth watching because OEP already owns Kinly, the global IT and ProAV integrator formed from the merger of Yorktel and Kinly, putting a major distributor and a major integrator under the same ownership.
The sale ends Nexora's time under DCC, which has been shifting its focus to its energy business. DCC signaled its intent to divest the technology division last year when it rebranded DCC Technology as Nexora.
According to the companies, Nexora's management will stay in place. CEO Clive Fitzharris said in a statement that the deal marks "the beginning of an exciting new chapter for Nexora" and that OEP "shares our vision and commitment to driving the next phase of our growth strategy."
OEP, formerly part of J.P. Morgan, focuses on technology and B2B investments in North America and Western Europe, which the release says aligns with Nexora's core markets. Nexora has said it plans to keep growing through acquisitions.
Why it matters to signage buyers
Almo Pro AV and Comm-Tec are significant distribution points for display hardware, mounts, players and related gear that signage integrators and installers rely on to stock and fulfill orders. Any change in ownership at that level can eventually affect pricing, vendor relationships, inventory strategy or which brands get prioritized for distribution.
The more interesting question, which the announcement does not answer, is what happens now that OEP controls both a distributor (Nexora) and an integrator (Kinly) in overlapping markets. The companies have not said whether the two businesses will operate independently or whether OEP will look for operational overlap between them. For signage resellers and integrators who compete with Kinly but buy through Almo or Comm-Tec, that relationship is worth monitoring.
The announcement does not disclose deal terms, a closing date, or whether any further divestitures or brand changes are planned beyond Nexora's stated intention to keep acquiring. It also does not say whether Almo Pro AV or Comm-Tec will see any changes to staffing, warehousing or product lines in the near term.
For now, the practical takeaway is continuity: same management, same brands, new owner with a track record of building out AV services through acquisition.

The acquisition is notable because OEP also owns Kinly, the global IT and ProAV integrator created through the merger of Yorktel and Kinly . Whether the shared ownership of a major distributor and integrator will create operational synergies or lead to further consolidation remains to be seen.
