Omdia Forecasts 11.6% Annual Growth For LED Display Revenue Through 2030

Omdia expects the global LED video display market to grow at an 11.6% compound annual rate between 2026 and 2030, even as manufacturers contend with rising component costs and soft demand in traditional segments. For operators and integrators buying LED video walls, the forecast points to a market where prices stay under pressure in the near term but higher-value, more capable displays increasingly drive revenue.
The numbers from Omdia's LED Video Display Market Tracker for the second quarter of 2026 show the gap between volume and value. Shipments rose 3.3% year over year in that quarter, but revenue fell 0.2%. In other words, more panels went out the door for less money overall, a sign of continued pricing pressure on commodity product.
That pressure has been building since late 2025, according to Omdia, as costs for LED chips, driver ICs, printed circuit boards and power supplies have climbed. The research firm says several display brands have pushed through three or four rounds of price increases, with cumulative hikes ranging from 3% to 30% depending on the product line. For buyers, that means budgeting for LED video walls has gotten less predictable over the past year.
Omdia's Cindy Liu, a senior analyst at the firm, says vendors are responding by reassessing their product portfolios and leaning toward higher-value opportunities rather than competing purely on price. The announcement describes manufacturers increasingly concentrating on mid-range and premium displays, with more attention paid to energy efficiency, reliability and differentiation. That shift tracks with what buyers in the commercial AV channel have been hearing for a while: commodity LED is a tougher business, and vendors want to sell up.
Manufacturing moves closer to regional markets
Trade tensions and supply chain costs are also pushing production closer to where displays get installed. Omdia cites Daktronics' investment in a manufacturing facility in Saltillo, Mexico, intended to give the company more flexibility on costs, tariffs and regional requirements. Leyard is expanding manufacturing in Saudi Arabia under a 2024 agreement with Saudi Engineer Holding Group Establishment, with production originally slated to start in the second quarter of 2026. The announcement does not say whether that Leyard timeline has held.
On growth drivers, Omdia points beyond standard signage to immersive entertainment, cultural attractions, virtual production, sports venues and commercial installations. Advances in Micro LED, chip-on-board packaging and seamless display technology are enabling curved and spherical installations for planetariums, science centers and museums, plus multi-sided LED cave environments for exhibitions, simulation and training that let visitors experience immersive content without headsets.
By segment, Omdia projects corporate signage revenue will grow 14.7% annually through 2030, with public-space applications growing 10% a year. The overall message for the industry: future growth in LED display revenue looks tied more to the sophistication and value of installations than to raw shipment volume.

Despite rising component costs and sluggish demand, Omdia expects premium displays, immersive installations and new applications to drive double-digit annual revenue growth.
The global LED video display market faces mounting cost pressures and weaker demand in traditional applications, but new Omdia research forecasts a return to stronger growth starting in 2027.
According to Omdia’s LED Video Display Market Tracker – 2Q26, worldwide shipments increased 3.3% year over year in the second quarter of 2026, while revenue declined 0.2%.
Despite the mixed results, the research firm forecasts an 11.6% compound annual growth rate (CAGR) in global LED display revenue between 2026 and 2030, driven by higher-value products, emerging applications and expanded regional manufacturing.
Since late 2025, manufacturers have faced successive price increases for LED chips, driver ICs, printed circuit boards and power supplies. Several display brands have responded with three or four rounds of price increases, with cumulative adjustments ranging from 3% to 30%.
“Rising prices and changing market conditions are prompting vendors to reassess their product portfolios and focus on higher-value opportunities,” said Cindy Liu, senior analyst at Omdia.
Manufacturers are increasingly concentrating on mid-range and premium displays, with greater emphasis on energy efficiency, reliability and product differentiation.
Trade tensions and supply chain pressures are also pushing manufacturers to set up production closer to regional markets.
Omdia points to Daktronics’ investment in a manufacturing facility in Saltillo, Mexico, which is intended to provide greater flexibility in managing costs, tariffs and regional customer requirements.
Leyard is also expanding its manufacturing presence in Saudi Arabia following a 2024 agreement with Saudi Engineer Holding Group Establishment (EHG). Production was originally scheduled to begin in the second quarter of 2026.
Emerging markets across Asia, Latin America, the Middle East, Africa and Eastern Europe offer additional growth opportunities, supported by infrastructure investment, urbanization and increasing adoption of digital display technologies.
Beyond conventional signage, Omdia identifies immersive entertainment, cultural attractions, virtual production, sports venues and commercial installations as increasingly important growth markets.
Advances in Micro LED, chip-on-board (COB) packaging and seamless display technology are enabling more sophisticated installations, including curved and spherical displays used in planetariums, science centers and museums.
Multi-sided LED Cave environments are also gaining traction in exhibitions, simulation and training, allowing visitors to experience immersive content without head-mounted devices.
Omdia expects these applications to support stronger market growth from 2027 onward.
Corporate signage is projected to record a 14.7% CAGR in revenue between 2026 and 2030, while public-space applications are expected to grow 10% annually.
The forecast suggests that future LED market growth will depend increasingly on the value and capabilities of installations rather than shipment volumes alone.
