Ocean Outdoor has switched on a new 166 square meter curved LED display in London's Leicester Square, adding significant large-format inventory to one of the UK's busiest out-of-home advertising locations. The screen, called The Curve, joins two existing portrait LED displays already operated by Ocean Outdoor in the square, bringing the combined digital advertising space at the site to approximately 240 square meters.

The Curve uses ClearLED technology and measures 17.28 meters wide by 9.6 meters high, with a 4.4 mm pixel pitch. The two flanking portrait screens each measure 2.88 meters wide by 12.8 meters high. The new display sits behind curved glazing on a building facade owned by West End property company Soho Estates, overlooking the pedestrian route into the square from Charing Cross Road.

For operators and media buyers, the pixel pitch and scale put this in familiar territory for premium city-center DOOH, built for viewing at a distance rather than close-up retail or transit applications. What stands out is the content restriction baked into the deal: because Leicester Square carries heritage status, Ocean Outdoor says full-motion and 3D content on The Curve will be limited to film premieres and selected cultural, community and charity events. That is a notable constraint for a screen of this size and cost, and it signals that most day-to-day advertising on the display will run as static or limited-motion creative rather than the dynamic, animated campaigns that have become standard on comparable London sites.

Ocean Outdoor cites Leicester Square's footfall as justification for the investment, claiming more than 2.5 million visitors per week, over 50 red carpet film premieres annually, and around 40 million entries and exits at the adjacent Underground station each year. Those figures come from the company and have not been independently verified.

The announcement positions The Curve as part of Ocean Outdoor's broader West End network, which includes the Piccadilly Lights a short walk away. That 783.5 square meter screen was paired in September 2026 with The Venue, a three-floor experiential space beneath it, suggesting Ocean Outdoor is building out experiential and activation capacity around its largest London sites rather than just adding screen area.

The release does not say when The Curve will be commercially available for bookings, what the asking rates are, or how the content restrictions will be enforced or reviewed for non-premiere events. Those details will matter to media planners deciding whether the heritage limitations make the site workable for standard campaigns or mainly useful for one-off premiere and cultural tie-ins.

Ocean Outdoor has added a 166 m² curved LED advertising display in London’s Leicester Square to its West End DooH portfolio. Called The Curve, the ClearLED display is joined by two existing portrait LED screens to provide 240 m² of digital advertising space.

Ocean Outdoor has launched The Curve, a new 166 square meter (1,787 square feet) large-format LED advertising screen in Leicester Square.

The ClearLED display measures 17.28 meters wide by 9.6 meters high (56.7 feet by 31.5 feet) and has a 4.4 mm pixel pitch. It is flanked by two existing portrait LED displays, each measuring 2.88 meters wide by 12.8 meters high (9.4 feet by 42 feet).

Together, the three displays provide approximately 240 square meters (2,583 square feet) for activations. Because Leicester Square has heritage status, full-motion and 3D content on The Curve will be limited to film premieres and selected cultural, community and charity events.

The Curve overlooks the pedestrian route into Leicester Square from Charing Cross Road and is integrated behind curved glazing in the facade of a building owned by West End property company Soho Estates.

“In the heart of one of the world’s most famous entertainment districts, The Curve gives brands a presence surrounded by theatreland and some of the UK’s biggest red carpet moments,” said Ocean Outdoor UK CEO Nick Shaw.

Ocean says Leicester Square attracts more than 2.5 million visitors per week. The area hosts more than 50 red carpet film premieres annually, while Leicester Square Underground station records approximately 40 million entries and exits each year.

The Curve expands Ocean Outdoor’s London portfolio. Its big brother, the Piccadilly Lights, is just a few minutes’ walk away.

In September 2026, Ocean Outdoor and landlord Landsec paired the 783.5-square-meter (8,433-square-foot) with The Venue , a three-floor experiential space directly beneath it.
