NoviSign Digital Signage has integrated with restaurant POS platform Toast, letting operators connect Toast menu data directly to NoviSign digital menu boards. For anyone managing menu screens across multiple restaurant locations, this addresses a familiar headache: keeping prices and item availability consistent between the point of sale and the screens customers actually look at.

According to the company, the integration automatically syncs menu items, prices, descriptions, categories and product availability from Toast to connected NoviSign displays, whether that is one site or a chain. When staff update a price or mark an item unavailable in Toast, the change is meant to propagate to the screens without anyone re-entering it in a separate content management system. NoviSign says this cuts administrative work and reduces the risk of screens showing outdated prices or sold-out items, a common complaint in quick-service and fast-casual settings where menus change often.

The division of labour is clear from the announcement: Toast supplies the data, NoviSign handles presentation. Operators retain control over layout, can add product images and video, promote combos and specials, and schedule different menu boards for breakfast, lunch, dinner or happy hour dayparts. That daypart scheduling is standard functionality across most digital menu board software, so the news here is specifically the POS data sync rather than new display features.

This type of POS-to-signage integration is not new in the category. Competing menu board and signage vendors have offered similar links to POS systems for years, so NoviSign's move is largely about catching up with a widely used restaurant platform in Toast, which has a large installed base among independent and multi-location restaurants in North America.

The announcement does not specify pricing, rollout timing, which NoviSign hardware or player tiers support the integration, or whether the sync works in real time or on a delay. It also does not mention whether the integration is available immediately or in a limited release.

NoviSign chief executive Gil Matzliah said the goal is to help restaurants respond faster to menu changes and create a more consistent guest experience.

The tie-up synchronises menu items, prices, descriptions, categories and product availability with restaurant screens, allowing menus to be updated more accurately and quickly.

NoviSign Digital Signage has launched an integration with the Toast platform that enables restaurants to connect their Toast POS menu data directly to NoviSign digital menu boards.

The integration automatically synchronises menu items, prices, descriptions, categories and product availability with restaurant screens on one site or multiple locations.

When menu information is updated in Toast, it is automatically reflected across connected NoviSign displays, eliminating the need for staff to repeat the changes in another system.

For restaurants managing frequent price changes, limited-time items and product availability, the integration reduces administrative work and helps ensure customers always see current menu information.

While Toast provides the menu data, NoviSign gives restaurants control over how it appears on screen. Operators can customise layouts, add product images and videos, promote specials and combos, and schedule different content for breakfast, lunch, dinner or happy hours.

NoviSign chief executive Gil Matzliah said: “Restaurant menu data should not stop at the point of sale. By connecting Toast directly with NoviSign, we bring that data to customer-facing screens, helping restaurants respond faster to menu changes, reduce repetitive work and create a more consistent guest experience.”
