Novisign Adds GPT-Powered Studio AI for Screen Design to CMS

Novisign has added a generative AI design tool directly into its content management system, letting operators create and revise full screen layouts by typing or speaking instructions instead of building them manually.
The company launched Novisign Studio AI in beta on September 15. It runs on OpenAI's GPT models and converts prompts into signage creatives that include copy, imagery, layout and visual hierarchy. Users can upload logos or product photos to steer the results.
For operators, the practical detail is where this sits: Studio AI lives inside the existing Novisign Studio editor rather than as a bolted-on separate app. Novisign says every AI-generated element stays editable, so staff can switch between typing a new prompt and adjusting things by hand in the drag-and-drop tool. That matters for anyone worried about AI output being a black box they can't touch afterward.
The tool also edits creatives that already exist. Novisign's example has a café manager generating an iced-coffee promotion, then later asking the system to update the price without redoing the layout. Other described uses include adding product imagery, simplifying a busy design or translating a screen into another language.
Novisign CEO Gil Matzliah said the tool "brings new ideas to life in a fraction of the time" and that results that once needed design skill and effort can now be produced quickly. Novisign claims the prompt-based workflow can build screens up to ten times faster than conventional production. That figure comes from the company; it is not independently verified.
Creation connects directly to publishing
Once a creative is finished, it stays inside Novisign's existing cloud workflow, where operators preview, schedule and push it to their network the same way they would any other content. Novisign says its platform runs more than 70,000 active screens across displays, kiosks, tablets and interactive installations, so the AI layer is landing on an established base rather than a new product line.
During the beta, users get a number of free prompts before further access moves to Novisign's paid subscription tiers. The company held a webinar on the feature on September 16.
Studio AI is part of a broader pattern of CMS vendors folding generative AI directly into their platforms rather than treating it as a separate design step. Videri added an integrated AI layer in August for app generation and network commands, and Idomoo's Lucas AI video agent paired with Samsung VXT to build editable video compositions from text prompts. Novisign's version is narrower in scope, focused on static and layout-based screen design and its subsequent editing, with generation and publishing kept inside one system rather than requiring export to another tool. The announcement does not detail how pricing for full Studio AI access will compare to Novisign's existing subscription tiers, or how the beta's free-prompt allowance will be structured once it ends.

Novisign has embedded generative AI into its signage CMS, allowing users to create and revise complete screen designs through conversational instructions.
The company launched Novisign Studio AI in beta on September 15. Powered by OpenAI’s GPT models, the feature turns written or spoken prompts into digital signage creatives containing copy, imagery, layouts and visual hierarchy. Users can also upload logos or product images to guide the output.
Studio AI operates within the existing Novisign Studio environment rather than as a separate design application. Every generated element remains editable, according to the company. Users can alternate between conversational prompts and manual adjustments in Novisign’s drag-and-drop editor.
The tool can also modify existing Novisign creatives. Users can request a price change, add product imagery, simplify a crowded layout or translate a complete design. In one scenario outlined by Novisign, a café manager generates an iced-coffee promotion and later updates its price without manually editing each component.
“Novisign Studio AI brings new ideas to life in a fraction of the time,” said Novisign CEO Gil Matzliah. “What once required design skills and considerable effort can now be done quickly, with beautiful results that match the user’s vision.”
Novisign claims the prompt-based workflow can create screens up to ten times faster than conventional production. That figure is a company estimate. The workflow is designed to reduce routine design work while preserving the ability to refine each element.
Creation connects directly to publishing
Completed creatives remain inside Novisign’s cloud workflow, where operators can preview, save, schedule and publish content across their networks. The company says its platform manages more than 70,000 active screens worldwide and supports displays, kiosks, tablets and interactive installations.
Studio AI users receive several complimentary prompts during the beta period. Further access will be offered through Novisign subscriptions. The company plans to demonstrate the feature in a webinar on September 16.
Studio AI follows a wider move to place generative tools directly inside content management systems. Videri introduced an integrated AI layer in August for application generation and network commands, while Idomoo’s Lucas AI video agent joined Samsung VXT to create editable video compositions from text prompts.
Novisign’s implementation concentrates on complete screen layouts and subsequent editing. Users can schedule and publish the AI-generated content within the same CMS, without exporting it to another platform.
