Leyard Europe Names Matthias Hartmann Territory Lead for DACH
2026-10-23 · via DailyDOOH
Leyard Europe has appointed Matthias Hartmann as territory lead for the DACH region, covering Germany, Austria and Switzerland, as the LED display manufacturer pushes to expand its footprint in those markets.
Hartmann joins with more than 25 years in enterprise B2B technology sales, including 18 years at Dell Technologies in sales, management and international project roles. He most recently served as general manager sales DACH at Sharp NEC Display Solutions, giving him direct experience in the commercial display and AV channel that Leyard competes in.
According to Leyard, Hartmann will work with system integrators, distributors, consultants, planners and end users to grow the company's business across the region. The release names control rooms, corporate meeting and conference environments, and broadcast as target sectors, rather than retail or advertising-led digital signage. The company says it is also recruiting additional staff to strengthen local coverage and technical support, though no numbers or timeline are given.
Filip Cogghe, vice president for Europe at Leyard Europe, said DACH is an important growth market for the company and that strengthening local presence is part of its broader strategy. He pointed to Hartmann's enterprise technology background and familiarity with the professional AV channel as reasons for the hire.
Part of a wider European push
This appointment follows Leyard Europe's recent opening of a dedicated Leyard and Planar showroom and VIP lounge in London, alongside a round of UK and Ireland hiring. Leyard frames all of this as part of a wider growth strategy aimed at strengthening support for partners and end users through what it calls a European approach to LED manufacturing, with production based at its facility in Slovakia and its own in-house European service organisation.
For operators and integrators in DACH, the hire signals that Leyard intends to compete more directly for enterprise and institutional LED projects in a market where Sharp NEC, among others, is already established. Hartmann's move from a rival vendor's regional sales leadership to Leyard suggests the company is betting on relationships and channel knowledge built up over years in that specific market, rather than starting from scratch.
The announcement does not detail specific product lines Hartmann will prioritise, sales targets, or how many additional staff Leyard plans to bring on in the region. It also does not say when the recruitment drive is expected to conclude or how the DACH expansion fits against Leyard's investment in the UK market announced earlier this year.
