Ledman has supplied a double-sided outdoor LED display for a new digital-out-of-home installation on Hessa Street in Dubai, a corridor the company describes as an important east-west route connecting residential, commercial and development areas across the city.

The installation totals 265 square metres of Ledman's NS10W LED product, which the company positions for high-brightness outdoor use. For operators running billboard-scale DOOH sites, the pixel pitch and brightness spec are the two numbers that determine legibility at speed and distance, but the announcement does not give a pixel pitch figure or a brightness rating in nits, so buyers evaluating this against competing outdoor LED products will need to seek that detail directly from Ledman.

Ledman says the NS10W uses energy-saving technology that cuts power draw by up to 30% compared with conventional outdoor LED displays. That claim is Ledman's own and the release does not specify what baseline or measurement conditions produced the figure. Energy cost is an increasingly live issue for outdoor DOOH operators given the running hours and screen sizes involved, so a verified 30% reduction, if it holds up in practice, would be a meaningful factor in total cost of ownership.

Build and maintenance

The panel is built with what Ledman describes as a dual waterproofing design, with modules that are independently waterproofed rather than relying on a single sealed enclosure. For a market like Dubai, where displays face heat, dust and occasional heavy rain, that kind of module-level protection matters for long-term reliability more than headline brightness specs.

Ledman also points to the display's lightweight construction and modular structure, which it says simplifies installation and lets modules be connected in parallel. In practical terms that should mean faster servicing, since a faulty module can potentially be swapped without pulling apart a large section of the display, reducing downtime on a double-sided structure where both faces need to stay operational for ad inventory to run.

The project was delivered jointly with Viron Group, described as Ledman's local partner in the region, covering solution design, installation and after-sales support. The release does not name the site's owner or media operator, nor does it say what content or advertising campaigns will run on the display, so it is not yet clear how the inventory will be sold or who is buying space on it.

For signage buyers, the announcement is another data point in the continued build-out of large-format outdoor LED in the Gulf region, where high-traffic corridors are increasingly being fitted with double-sided structures to maximise advertising exposure from both directions of travel.

Ledman has provided a double-sided LED display for a new DOOH installation in Dubai.

The project comprises 265 sq metres of the company’s NS10W LED, which is designed for high-brightness outdoor applications.

The solution also incorporates Ledman’s energy-saving technology, which the company reports uses up to 30% less power than conventional outdoor LED displays.

The NS10W incorporates a dual waterproofing design and independently waterproofed modules, helping provide additional protection for the display.

Its lightweight design simplifies installation and maintenance, while its modular structure allows displays to be connected in parallel, for more-convenient servicing and replacement.

The installation is on Hessa Street, an important east-west corridor connecting several residential, commercial and development areas across Dubai.

Ledman worked with its local partner Viron Group, jointly supporting the project from solution design and installation through to after-sales service.
