Ibase Launches Compact Pico-ITX Board for Edge AI and Kiosks

Ibase Technology has released the PI900, a Pico-ITX motherboard aimed at edge AI, smart retail, kiosk and digital signage deployments where physical space is tight. The board measures just 100 by 72 millimeters, according to the company, making it a candidate for integrators building compact players into thin kiosks or space-constrained enclosures.

The PI900 is offered with either an Intel Core Ultra 5 125U or Core Ultra 7 155U processor. Both chips combine CPU, GPU and neural processing unit functions, which Ibase says allows AI workloads such as computer vision or analytics to run locally on the device rather than depending on a cloud connection. Depending on the processor chosen, the board provides up to 12 cores and 14 threads.

Memory tops out at 48 GB of DDR5-5600, which is a meaningful amount for a board this size and suggests Ibase is targeting applications heavier than basic media playback, such as on-device object detection or customer analytics at the edge.

Display and connectivity

For signage and kiosk builders, the display side is the part that matters most. The PI900 supports HDMI 2.0, DisplayPort 1.4a via USB-C, and LVDS, giving integrators three ways to drive a panel depending on the enclosure design.
