Former IPG CEO David Bell Joins Veridooh Advisory Council
2026-09-04 · via DailyDOOH
Veridooh, a company that verifies out-of-home advertising campaigns, has added David Bell, former CEO of Interpublic Group (IPG), to its Advisory Council. According to the announcement, Bell will work directly with Veridooh co-founders and co-CEOs Mo Moubayed and Jeremy Yang.
For operators and buyers in the DOOH space, the appointment signals Veridooh's push to position independent verification as a standard practice in out-of-home advertising, an area that has lagged digital advertising in third-party measurement compared to formats like display and video.
Bell's background is heavily weighted toward traditional and digital advertising rather than signage hardware or software. He led IPG, one of the largest advertising holding groups, and later spent three and a half years as a senior advisor to Google. He also advised AOL during its turnaround under Tim Armstrong and founded gyro, a B2B agency later acquired by Dentsu in 2016. Bell has chaired all four major US advertising trade bodies, according to the release, and sits on multiple boards including Dstillery and Madison Logic, with past involvement at DoubleVerify and Creative Realities.
Moubayed, quoted in the announcement, pointed to Bell's early support for DoubleVerify as evidence of his track record backing independent verification businesses, framing this as relevant to Veridooh's ambitions. Moubayed also said the company is now operating in eight markets, though the release does not specify which markets or provide details on Veridooh's verification methodology, client roster, or revenue.
What this means for the industry
Verification has become a bigger issue in DOOH as programmatic buying grows and advertisers demand proof that ads actually played as booked, on the screens and at the times contracted. Companies like DoubleVerify have built businesses around this problem in digital advertising broadly, and Veridooh is one of several firms trying to bring similar rigor specifically to out-of-home.
Adding a figure like Bell to an advisory council is a credibility move more than an operational one. The announcement does not detail what specific responsibilities or deliverables come with the advisory role, nor does it mention compensation, equity, or a term length. For screen operators and media owners, the practical impact of this appointment is likely to be reputational for Veridooh rather than an immediate change to verification tools or standards. Whether it translates into broader adoption of independent verification across OOH networks remains to be seen.

David Bell Joins @Veridooh’s Advisory Council
Following on from Veridooh’s four global hires it made late last year , former IPG CEO and senior advisor to Google David Bell has joined its Advisory Council and, we are told, will work closely with the co-founders and co-CEOs, Mo Moubayed and Jeremy Yang .
Mo Moubayed , Veridooh co-founder and co-CEO, told us “David has built and led more of this industry’s defining companies than almost anyone alive. He was one of the first industry leaders to back independent verification when he worked with DoubleVerify, and that same conviction is exactly what the OOH industry needs now. Having someone with David’s judgement and experience on our Advisory Council is a huge vote of confidence in what we’re building. We’re already operating in eight markets and I’m looking forward to working with David to help realise our ambition to grow the industry by making independent verification the global standard for OOH.
David was elected to the US Advertising Hall of Fame in March 2007 and, over a career spanning more than four decades, he has led four major industry companies, including two of the biggest holding groups. Following his role as CEO at Interpublic Group (IPG), David spent three and a half years as senior advisor to Google, then joined Tim Armstrong as an advisor on AOL’s turnaround. In 2008 he partnered with Pegasus Capital Advisors to found gyro, a global B2B agency that was named AdAge’s Global B2B Agency of the Year in 2016 before being acquired by Dentsu that same year.
He is the only person to have chaired all four major US advertising bodies: the American Association of Advertising Agencies, the American Advertising Federation, the Advertising Educational Foundation and the Ad Council. He currently sits on the boards of Dstillery, Madison Logic, Ad.net, Valtech and PebblePost, alongside a portfolio history including Time Inc., DoubleVerify, Resonate, Creative Realities, YourTango, 33Across and many others.
