Diversified Names Rob Mello VP of Global Managed Services

2026-08-21 · via DailyDOOH

Diversified has hired Rob Mello as vice-president of global managed services, a newly created role meant to unify the systems integrator's managed services work across regions. For operators who rely on Diversified to keep displays, players and AV infrastructure running, the move signals a push toward more centralized, tech-driven support rather than a change in day-to-day service delivery.

According to the announcement, the new practice will align Diversified's managed services strategy globally while keeping regional teams and specialists in place. Managed services architects and client success executives will continue working directly with clients to build service models suited to their specific environments, the company says.

Diversified outlined three priorities for the practice: consistent delivery standards across regions, a shift toward long-term client value rather than one-off projects, and what it calls "intelligent service operations," which includes automation and agentic AI aimed at catching problems earlier and fixing them faster.

What this means for operators

The announcement does not detail specific tools, timelines or which regions or client segments will see changes first. It also does not say whether pricing or service tiers will shift as a result of the reorganization. For businesses running large signage or AV estates through Diversified, the practical impact will likely depend on how quickly the AI and automation components move from strategy to actual deployment.

Tyler Affolter, Diversified's chief revenue officer, said the company wants to move the managed services conversation "beyond maintenance and support toward intelligence, optimisation and AI-enabled, continuous value creation," and credited Mello's background in building global service practices as the reason for bringing him in.

Mello spent more than two decades building technology-enabled services at NTT DATA, Orange Business Services and IBM, according to Diversified. His prior work reportedly included launching new service practices and leading transformation projects that tied together technology, operations and commercial strategy, though the announcement does not specify which of those initiatives involved AV, signage or managed services for physical environments specifically.

Diversified is one of the larger systems integrators serving the digital signage and commercial AV market, and moves to centralize and automate managed services reflect a broader industry trend of vendors pitching AI-driven monitoring as a differentiator against competitors offering more traditional break-fix support. Whether Diversified's version delivers measurably faster resolution times or better uptime for clients is not something the announcement quantifies.

Rob Mello has joined Diversified as vice-president of global managed services, a new practice uniting managed services globally that we are told will use automation and agentic AI to identify issues earlier and resolve them faster.

This new practice will align Diversified’s managed services strategy and delivery, while preserving the regional expertise and specialised support clients rely on. Managed services architects and client success executives will continue working closely with individual clients to develop service models based on their environments and priorities.

The practice will focus on three priorities:

Consistent delivery at global scale – providing common standards, processes and service experiences across regions while maintaining the flexibility to support each client’s environment and business requirements.

Long-term client value – moving beyond individual projects to help clients improve adoption, performance, resilience and return on their technology investments over time.

Intelligent service operations – embedding automation and agentic AI into the architecture and evolution of Diversified’s managed services offerings to support more-proactive monitoring, faster resolution and continuous optimisation.

Tyler Affolter , Diversified’s chief revenue officer, said “We have an opportunity to move the managed services conversation beyond maintenance and support toward intelligence, optimisation and AI-enabled, continuous value creation. Rob’s experience building global practices and AI-infused, market-leading offerings gives us the leadership to accelerate that shift and help define where the industry goes next.”

During Rob’s career, he has created new practices, launched differentiated service offerings and led complex transformation initiatives that aligned technology, operations and commercial strategy. He brings more than two decades of experience building and scaling technology-enabled services for global organisations including NTT DATA, Orange Business Services and IBM.
