Diversified has named Pete Emminger as its global chief technology officer, tasking him with shaping the systems integrator's technology strategy as it pitches to clients across corporate, retail, sports and entertainment markets. For operators who buy digital signage and AV integration services through Diversified, the hire signals where the company thinks its business is heading: toward broadcast, ProAV and digital experience technology converging into single deployments.

According to the announcement, Emminger will work across Diversified to connect emerging technologies with client requirements and will help shape the company's technical direction, partnerships and future offerings. Diversified frames this as a response to broadcast, workplace technology, collaboration tools and digital experiences increasingly overlapping in the same physical spaces, whether that's a retail store, a stadium or a corporate campus.

Emminger spent more than 20 years in media, entertainment and live production before this move. Most recently he was global CTO at NEP Group, a major live event and broadcast production company, where he led technology strategy and built new software products and services. Earlier in his career he held senior roles at Activision Blizzard, where he was involved in launching the Call of Duty League and setting up an esports production studio. He also worked on the 2022 FIFA World Cup's shift to IP-based broadcast technology, leading teams that built software for global broadcast delivery.

Diversified CEO Paul Lidsky said Emminger understands where the convergence of these technology categories is headed and can turn strategy into scalable solutions, according to the announcement.

Part of a broader leadership shuffle

Emminger's appointment is the latest in a run of senior hires at Diversified this year. The company named Viral Tripathi as chief information officer in May and Tyler Affolter as chief revenue officer in April. Taken together, the moves point to a company rebuilding its executive bench as it competes for large-scale integration contracts that span digital signage, AV, broadcast and collaboration technology under one roof.

For digital signage operators and integrators watching from the outside, the announcement is light on specifics. It does not say what products or partnerships Emminger will prioritize, whether Diversified plans organizational changes beneath him, or how his broadcast-heavy background will translate into signage and retail media work specifically. The appointment reads as a strategic signal rather than a concrete product or service announcement, and it will be worth watching whether Diversified's go-to-market pitch to retail and corporate clients changes in the coming months as a result.
