DCC Energy Sells Nexora, Parent of Almo and JAM, for $725 Million

2026-10-15 · via DailyDOOH

DCC Energy, the FTSE-listed energy distributor, said on Friday it will sell its technology division Nexora to private equity firm One Equity Partners for a total enterprise value of $725 million, on a cash- and debt-free basis. For anyone buying signage hardware through Almo or JAM, this means a change of ownership at the top of the distribution chain.

Nexora is the parent brand for DCC's so-called Pro Tech businesses. That includes Almo and JAM, two pro-AV distribution brands with a significant footprint in North America, along with Hammer and Captech, infrastructure brands operating in Europe. Almo in particular is a familiar name to digital signage integrators and resellers who source displays, mounts, media players and related gear through its distribution network.

The sale follows DCC's broader restructuring of its technology holdings. The company put Nexora up for sale after completing the disposal of its Exertis IT business to AURELIUS last November. That means DCC has now moved to exit both of its major technology distribution arms within roughly a year.

Notably, the Nexora brand itself is barely a year old. According to the release, it only came into being last December, meaning the name was created, assembled from these various pro-AV and infrastructure businesses, and then sold within about ten months. That timeline suggests DCC consolidated these assets specifically to package them for a cleaner sale rather than to build a long-term standalone business.

The announcement does not say what, if anything, will change for Almo, JAM, Hammer or Captech customers day to day. It does not name executives staying on, detail integration plans, or specify a closing date for the transaction. It also does not say whether One Equity Partners intends to keep the Nexora name, split the businesses apart, or run them as a single unit going forward.

For operators and integrators who rely on Almo or JAM for digital signage hardware procurement, ownership changes at the distributor level are usually not disruptive in the short term, since existing supply agreements, warehousing and account teams typically carry over through a sale. But private equity ownership often brings pressure to streamline operations, consolidate brands, or divest underperforming units, so longer term changes to how these distributors operate are worth watching.

One Equity Partners has not detailed its plans for the acquired businesses beyond the transaction terms reported here. DCC's remaining business lines outside of technology distribution are not addressed in the announcement.
