Columbus Crew has deployed Uniguest's Sports Hub platform across more than 550 endpoints at ScottsMiracle-Gro Field, according to a press release from Uniguest. The connected IPTV and digital signage system now handles live broadcast feeds, match presentation content, EPOS-integrated menu boards and operational messaging throughout the venue's suites, clubs, concourses and hospitality spaces.

For venue operators, this is a case study in consolidating disparate screen functions, live TV, sponsor ads, menu boards, wayfinding, into a single managed platform rather than running separate systems for broadcast and signage. Uniguest says Sports Hub combines live broadcast television with the club's own statistics, player profiles and fan engagement content, while sponsor L-Wraps add commercial inventory around that content.

One feature worth noting for other venue operators: event trigger functionality that lets the operations team push personalized welcome messages or client branding to selected displays and then automatically revert every screen to standard match day configuration. That kind of automated reset reduces the manual labor of re-programming screens for each hospitality booking or sponsor activation, a common pain point in stadium and arena deployments.

Erik Shear, senior manager of scoreboard operations at Columbus Crew, said in the release that the goal in planning the new stadium was an atmosphere unmatched in the league, both audibly and visually. Ryan Gruebel, manager of IT support services, said the platform lets the team maintain consistent branding across uniforms, social media, LED boards and TVs, and credited the experience with contributing to strong Net Promoter Scores since the stadium opened.

The release does not specify deployment cost, hardware vendors used for the 550 endpoints, or a timeline for rollout. It also does not detail how Sports Hub integrates with third party ticketing, POS or scoreboard systems beyond the mention of EPOS-integrated menu boards. Uniguest positions Sports Hub within its broader Hub product line covering signage CMS, IPTV and digital engagement for sectors including hospitality, education and healthcare, suggesting the sports vertical is being built out as a distinct offering rather than a one-off deployment.

"The fan experience is night and day compared to the old stadium," Gruebel said in the release. "We can do so much more with the Uniguest platform than we could before.
