Chief Launches Universal Trim Kits for dvLED Video Wall Installs
2026-08-18 · via DailyDOOH
Chief, a brand of Legrand | AV, has released TiLED Universal Trim Kits, a modular finishing system for direct view LED video walls that installs after the display panels are mounted, requiring no cutting or fabrication on site.
For integrators, this addresses a familiar problem at project close-out: how to hide exposed cabinet edges and cabling around a dvLED wall without commissioning custom millwork or cutting trim in the field. According to Chief, custom millwork adds cost and lead time, field-cut trim introduces risk on the jobsite, and edge covers tied to a single manufacturer limit flexibility on future projects. The company says its universal kits are meant to close that gap with stocked, off-the-shelf components.
The kits consist of side panels, top/bottom panels, seam covers and corner components. Chief says they are available as individual parts or as pre-configured kits sized for common 27-inch video wall configurations, including 4x4, 5x5, 6x6, 8x4 and 8x8 arrays. The top and bottom trim pieces are vented, which Chief says supports passive cooling airflow behind the enclosed wall.
Compatibility is broad by design. Chief lists support for its own TiLED Universal mounts, legacy TiLED mounts, and TiLED Off-the-Wall systems with an adapter, plus third-party and OEM mounts with a video wall depth between 3 and 5.25 inches. For integrators running multi-site rollouts across different mount generations and vendors, that range means a single trim specification could cover more of a portfolio, in theory reducing the number of SKUs and installation variables to manage.
David Albright, Chief's senior product manager for videowall solutions and services, said in the announcement that finishing details matter as dvLED moves into more design-forward spaces, and that integrators should not have to trade a polished result for a predictable schedule.
Chief points to corporate lobbies, higher education campuses, control rooms, retail stores, hospitality venues and government facilities as target environments, the kind of high-visibility spaces where a wall is expected to look finished even when powered off.
The announcement does not give pricing, and it does not specify lead times for the pre-configured kits versus individual components, so integrators will need to check with Chief or its distribution channel for those details. It also does not address finishing options for wall depths outside the stated 3 to 5.25 inch range, which will matter for older or nonstandard installations.
TiLED Universal Trim Kits are available now, with full component specifications and ordering information posted on Chief's site.

Chief, a brand of Legrand | AV, this week announced the release of the TiLED Universal Trim Kits. The new Trim Kits complement the TiLED Direct View LED (dvLED) mounting ecosystem, giving integrators a fast, repeatable way to deliver a clean, architectural perimeter finish on video wall installations without the cost, lead time, or unpredictability of custom millwork or field-cut alternatives.
As dvLED moves into more design-forward commercial environments, the quality of the perimeter finish has become just as important as the quality of the display itself. Integrators have long faced a gap at project close-out: custom millwork adds cost and lead time, field-cut trim introduces jobsite risks, and manufacturer-specific edge covers lock them into narrow compatibility. TiLED Universal Trim Kits close that gap with an off-the-shelf modular system that installs after the panels are up with no cutting or fabrication required.
David Albright , Senior Product Manager, Videowall Solutions & Services for Chief told us “When dvLED videowalls are deployed into design-forward spaces, the finishing details are critical,” said “Integrators shouldn’t have to choose between a polished result and a predictable timeline. TiLED Universal Trim Kits give them both.”
TiLED Universal Trim Kits are a modular finishing system comprised of side and top/bottom panels, seam covers, and corner components that work together to elegantly enclose exposed cabinet edges and conceal cabling around dvLED videowalls. Because the trim installs as a final step after the display is installed, integrators can finalize the structural installation on their own timeline and add the finishing Trim Kit without redesigning scope or adding days to the schedule. Trim is available as individual components or as pre-configured kits sized for common 27-inch configurations (4×4, 5×5, 6×6, 8×4 and 8×8). Vented top and bottom trim profiles promote passive cooling airflow, protecting display performance and longevity after enclosure.
TiLED Universal Trim Kits are compatible with TiLED Universal mounts, legacy TiLED mounts, and TiLED Off-the-Wall mounting systems (adapter required), as well as other third party and OEM mounts with videowall depth of 3 to 5.25 inches (76.2 to 133.35 mm). This broad compatibility means integrators working across different project types and mount generations can specify a single trim solution with confidence, reducing the learning curve and jobsite variables across large multi-site rollouts.
TiLED Universal Trim Kits are purpose-built for environments where dvLED installations have high visibility including corporate lobbies, higher education campuses, control rooms, retail stores, hospitality spaces, and government facilities. In each of these settings, a dvLED wall is expected to look finished and intentional whether the display is powered on or off. TiLED Universal Trim Kits deliver that result with stocked SKUs at a fraction of the cost and lead time of custom alternatives.
TiLED Universal Trim Kits are available now.
