Carousel has added a set of remote management and monitoring tools for the Amazon Signage Stick, letting operators handle more device-level tasks without leaving the Carousel CMS. For anyone running a Signage Stick fleet, that means fewer separate tools to log into for basic upkeep.

The new features build on Carousel's integration with Amazon Signage, first announced in November 2025. They rely on Amazon Signage's Remote Management APIs, which Amazon has opened to authorized content management providers. Carousel has built these into its Cloud Player.

The headline addition is over-the-air updates: the Carousel dashboard can detect when updates are available for both the Carousel app and Amazon Signage OS, and push both at once. Operators can trigger updates immediately or schedule them for overnight installation, which matters for networks that cannot afford screens going dark or restarting during business hours.

Carousel has also added scheduled display power control using HDMI-CEC, branded as its Power Save feature. This lets compatible displays be switched on and off at set times rather than running continuously, which operators will read as an energy-cost and panel-lifespan play, though Carousel does not provide figures on savings.

What else is included

The update adds OS-level display rotation for portrait and inverted-landscape installations, handled at the operating system level rather than through app-side workarounds. Carousel says the system can also automatically identify individual Signage Stick models, and it now offers device health monitoring covering CPU, memory and disk usage as well as overall player health. That gives network operators and support teams visibility into individual device status without deploying separate diagnostic software.

The practical effect is that functions which would normally require a separate device management tool, such as firmware updates, power scheduling and hardware diagnostics, are folded into the same CMS used to manage content. That is the pitch: one dashboard rather than several.

John Reilly, chief operating officer of Carousel, said Amazon opening its APIs to authorized providers "gave us room to build more deeply into the device itself."

Carousel says it plans to keep adding functionality as Amazon expands what is available through the Remote Management APIs. The announcement does not specify pricing, which Signage Stick models are supported, or a rollout timeline for customers. It also does not say how this compares functionally to remote management tools other CMS vendors have built for competing media player platforms, so operators evaluating Signage Stick as a hardware option will want to check those details directly with Carousel before committing to a deployment.

Carousel has expanded its Amazon Signage Stick integration with device updates, display control and health monitoring available directly through its CMS.

Carousel has added new management and monitoring capabilities for the Amazon Signage Stick, deepening the integration between the two companies that was first announced in November 2025.

The new features use Amazon Signage’s Remote Management APIs, which Amazon Signage has opened to authorized content management providers. Carousel has integrated the APIs into its Cloud Player, allowing operators to manage more of their Signage Stick deployments without leaving the Carousel dashboard.

Among the additions are over-the-air updates for both the Carousel app and Amazon Signage OS. The Carousel dashboard can identify when updates are available and initiate both together, with operators able to launch them immediately or allow installation overnight.

Carousel has also added scheduled display power control using HDMI-CEC. Its Power Save feature can switch compatible displays on and off at set times, reducing the need for displays to run continuously when they are not in use.

Other additions include OS-level display rotation for portrait and inverted-landscape installations, automatic identification of individual Signage Stick models, and device health monitoring. Carousel can track CPU, memory, and disk usage along with overall player health, providing operators and support teams with information about individual devices across a signage network.

The expanded integration moves some hardware management functions that would otherwise require separate tools into the CMS used to manage signage content.

“Amazon Signage opening its APIs to authorized providers gave us room to build more deeply into the device itself,” said John Reilly, chief operating officer of Carousel.

Carousel says it plans to continue adding functionality as Amazon makes additional capabilities available through its Remote Management APIs.
