Canadian OOH Awards 2026 Debuts Joint COMMB-AdClub Show With LED Stage Format

The Canadian Out-of-Home Awards 2026 were handed out last Wednesday at the Fairmont Royal York in Toronto, marking the first time the event has been run jointly by COMMB (the Canadian Out-of-Home Marketing and Measurement Bureau) and the AdClub of Toronto, according to DailyDOOH's coverage of the event.
The organizers say this year's show drew a record number of entries across 18 categories, grouped under three pillars: Strategy, Medium and Creativity. Winners received Gold, Silver or Bronze in each category, with a PDF of top-three placements released alongside the announcement rather than a full breakdown in the body of the release.
For anyone running or supplying screens, the detail worth noting is the production itself rather than the awards list. The show was delivered on a 10-foot by 33-foot LED screen on stage, and category introductions were handled through pre-produced presenter segments filmed in advance during what organizers called a "Studio Day," rather than live hosting. Organizers describe this as an industry-first approach for the awards. That is a meaningful shift in how a trade event is staged: instead of a stage host reading out nominees, the show leans on a large-format LED canvas and recorded video content to carry pacing and visual polish, which is effectively a live demonstration of DOOH production techniques applied to an awards gala rather than a retail or transit environment.
The merger of COMMB and AdClub of Toronto into one combined ceremony is also notable on its own. Two organizations that previously ran separate recognition programs for the Canadian out-of-home sector have consolidated into a single show, which suggests an effort to streamline industry awards activity in Canada rather than splitting entries and attention across competing ceremonies.
What the release does not say is which specific brands or campaigns took Gold in each of the 18 categories, how many total entries were received, or which agencies or media owners dominated the winners list. That information sits behind a linked PDF rather than in the announcement text, so readers looking for campaign-level detail, including any specifically tied to digital or programmatic out-of-home executions, will need to consult that document directly.
For operators and vendors watching the Canadian OOH market, the headline takeaway is less about who won and more about the format: a major industry gala now treats a large LED video wall as the default production tool for its own show, not just for client campaigns.

2026 Canadian OOH Awards Winners & Finalists
Last Wednesday, the Canadian Out-of-Home Awards 2026 brought the industry together at the Fairmont Royal York to celebrate the people, ideas and campaigns that made an impact over the past year.
This year’s celebration marked the first-ever joint awards show between COMMB and the AdClub of Toronto and featured a record-breaking number of entries across three pillars: Strategy, Medium and Creativity. Across 18 categories, the awards showcased the incredible range of thinking, talent and innovation shaping the Canadian Out-of-Home landscape.
The show itself also entered a new era this year, with a completely reimagined format designed to create a more polished, engaging and production-driven experience. In an industry-first approach for the awards, category introductions were brought to life through pre-produced presenter segments filmed during Studio Day, while the full show was delivered across a massive 10′ x 33′ LED screen on stage. The new format put the work at the centre of the experience and created a dynamic showcase worthy of the creativity, impact and innovation being celebrated across the industry.
From smart strategic thinking to innovative uses of the medium and standout creative, the day celebrated the campaigns and people pushing the possibilities of Out-of-Home forward.
