Axion Displays has introduced a monitoring and maintenance platform called Radar, aimed at system integrators and end users who need to catch equipment faults before they cause downtime. The platform is in a limited pilot with selected customers ahead of wider commercial availability, according to the company.

Radar is a web-based system that pulls operational data from connected equipment, including temperature, fan speed, power consumption and device status, along with environmental readings such as ambient temperature and humidity. Axion Displays says the platform establishes a baseline for normal operation so it can flag unusual patterns that might signal a developing problem, rather than only reporting outright failures.

Users can set custom rules and automated alerts. If a device crosses a defined temperature threshold, for example, Radar can notify a service team or trigger a protective shutdown, the company says. That kind of rules-based response is a fairly standard feature in remote monitoring tools generally, but Axion Displays is positioning it as central to reducing unplanned downtime across projection, LED and interactive display installs.

For operators running mixed estates, the notable claim is manufacturer-agnostic support. Axion Displays says Radar works with equipment from multiple vendors, including hardware already installed in the field, using standard communication protocols and custom device profiles. If that holds up in practice, it would let integrators manage a mixed fleet from one dashboard instead of juggling separate manufacturer-specific monitoring tools, which is a common pain point on larger multi-site signage networks.

The platform also stores warranty information, firmware details and maintenance logs, which Axion Displays frames as a way for integrators to build ongoing maintenance and monitoring services around installed hardware rather than one-off sales.

Roderick Bokdam, head of marketing at Axion Displays, said the company wanted to move beyond reacting only when equipment fails, and that giving integrators and end users more insight into performance should help them spot problems earlier and automate routine tasks.

What the announcement does not say is pricing, a firm date for general availability, how many manufacturers' equipment is currently supported, or which specific display and signage brands have been tested with the platform. It also does not detail how Radar compares on cost or functionality with established remote monitoring tools already used in the signage and AV channel.

Axion Displays, founded in Germany in 2025, provides sales representation, pre-sales consultancy, logistics, marketing and after-sales support for professional display technology, spanning high-brightness projection, LED video walls, interactive flat panels and cloud-based digital signage. Radar is described as part of a broader push to pair its hardware portfolio with proprietary software and services for channel partners.

The web-based Radar platform combines real-time equipment monitoring, anomaly detection and automated alerts, providing a scalable solution for managing installations of all sizes.

Axion Displays has introduced an AV monitoring and maintenance platform designed to help system integrators and end users identify potential equipment issues before they result in costly downtime.

Developed in house, Radar combines real-time equipment monitoring, anomaly detection and automated alerts within a centralised, web-based platform. It provides a scalable solution for managing everything from individual devices to large, multi-site installations.

Radar collects and analyses operational data from connected equipment, including temperature, fan speed, power consumption and device status, alongside environmental conditions such as ambient temperature and humidity.

Preventative action By establishing a baseline for normal operation, the platform can identify unusual patterns that may indicate developing problems, allowing users to take preventative action.

Custom rules and automated alerts enable users to respond quickly to potential faults. If a device exceeds a defined temperature threshold, for example, Radar can notify the relevant service team or initiate a protective shutdown to help prevent equipment damage.

Radar supports equipment from multiple manufacturers, including existing installations. Using standard communication protocols and custom device profiles, the platform is designed to provide a unified view of mixed AV environments without relying on separate manufacturer-specific monitoring systems.

Proactive maintenance For system integrators, Radar creates opportunities to deliver proactive maintenance and ongoing monitoring services, with access to warranty information, firmware details and maintenance logs helping them manage equipment throughout its lifecycle.

End users benefit from greater operational visibility, more efficient maintenance planning and improved system reliability.

Radar forms part of Axion Displays’ wider strategy to complement its professional display technologies with proprietary software and services that deliver additional value to its channel partners.

The platform is currently being introduced through a limited pilot programme, with Axion Displays inviting selected customers to trial Radar ahead of wider commercial availability.

Roderick Bokdam, head of marketing at Axion Displays, said: “With Radar, we wanted to move beyond simply reacting when equipment fails. By giving system integrators and end users greater insight into how their equipment is performing, we can help them identify potential problems earlier, automate routine tasks and keep their systems running reliably.

“What makes Radar particularly exciting is its flexibility. Whether you’re managing a single projector or hundreds of devices across multiple sites, the platform gives you the information and control you need, regardless of the manufacturer.”
