Wisar Digital has added a Share of Voice (SOV) advertising module called Campaigns to its 42 Digital Signage CMS, giving operators who sell screen time by percentage rather than fixed slots a way to handle the booking math inside the platform instead of in spreadsheets.

SOV selling is common on retail media networks and some digital signage networks, where an advertiser buys a percentage of a loop's playtime rather than a specific number of seconds. That model gets complicated fast when creative does not divide evenly into the purchased share. According to Wisar Digital, the classic problem is an advertiser buying 25 percent of a 60-second loop, which entitles them to 15 seconds, but then supplying a 20-second video. Campaigns is built to solve that by automatically adjusting the effective loop length so the full video plays while proportionally repeating other content to preserve every advertiser's purchased SOV.

Operators set up a loop for a single screen or a group of screens, define its duration, and decide the increments in which inventory can be sold. Campaigns are then booked against that inventory as a percentage. Any unsold inventory can be automatically backfilled with the operator's own house content, and a Campaign Report tracks actual plays against what was booked, screen by screen.

The module handles booking, delivery and reporting, but not billing or invoicing. Operators still need to reconcile those bookings with their existing financial systems, which is worth noting for anyone hoping for an end-to-end sales-to-invoice workflow in one tool.

Why it matters for operators

For networks running SOV deals today, this is the kind of back-office plumbing that usually gets built in-house or bolted together with spreadsheets, as Wisar Digital's own CEO Kevin Goldsmith acknowledged. "We built Campaigns because we were watching customers manage SOV deals in spreadsheets alongside our software, which defeats the point of having a CMS in the first place," he said.

The feature puts 42 Digital Signage more squarely in competition with CMS platforms and ad-serving tools that already market themselves toward retail media and DOOH ad sales, a segment of the industry that has been growing as retailers look to monetize screens. Whether Campaigns' proportional-repeat approach to fitting oversized creative into a loop matches how other platforms solve the same problem is not addressed in the announcement, and operators evaluating it will want to see how the reporting holds up against third-party verification requirements increasingly asked for by advertisers.

Campaigns is being made available to existing 42 Digital Signage customers and white-label partners as part of their current annual subscription, at no additional cost, according to the company.

New Campaigns module automates booking and delivery of Share of Voice advertising across digital signage and retail media networks.

Wisar Digital has added native Share of Voice (SOV) advertising management to its 42 Digital Signage CMS with the launch of a new module called Campaigns.

The module is designed for digital signage and retail media operators selling advertising inventory as a percentage of screen time rather than fixed-duration slots. It handles the calculations needed to maintain an advertiser’s purchased Share of Voice when creative does not fit neatly into its allocated portion of a playlist.

For example, an advertiser buying 25% of a 60-second loop is entitled to 15 seconds, but may supply a 20-second video. Campaigns then automatically adjusts the effective loop length so the complete video can play while proportionally repeating other content to maintain the SOV purchased by each advertiser.

Operators can define a loop for an individual screen or group of screens, set its duration and determine the increments in which inventory can be sold. Campaigns are then booked against that inventory by percentage.

Unsold inventory can automatically be filled with the network operator’s own house content. A Campaign Report tracks actual plays against booked commitments for individual screens.

The module covers booking, content delivery and reporting but does not handle billing or invoicing, which remains with an operator’s existing financial systems.

“We built Campaigns because we were watching customers manage SOV deals in spreadsheets alongside our software, which defeats the point of having a CMS in the first place,” said Kevin Goldsmith, partner and CEO of Wisar Digital.

Campaigns is available to 42 Digital Signage customers and white-label partners as part of the existing annual software subscription at no additional cost.
