Daylight Savings Time is This Weekend! Are You Ready to Spring Forward?
Daylight Savings Time is upon us once again. We will all spring forward one hour at 2:00 a.m. on March 12th, when Daylight Savings Time officially begins. While the idea of losing an hour this weekend may not sound like a ton of fun and our sleep schedules will take a few days to get used to the change, there is still one major benefit of the time change this weekend. The start of Daylight Savings means that we get an hour of more sunlight in the evenings. No more walking out of work after 5:00 p.m. and feeling like the day is over because the sun is setting. So the time change does come with some benefits after all.
Here are some handy tips to help you get the most of your time changing experience!
Daylight Savings To-Do List:
We change our clocks twice a year, so here is a list of three tasks you could plan to tackle when daylight savings begins and ends.
1. Dust and clean vents.
Something about vents just seems to call out to dust. It is also extremely easy to overlook vents when cleaning. Go ahead and wipe all of that built-up dust from your vents this weekend.
2. Do a quick battery check.
It is recommended that you check/replace the batteries in your smoke and Carbon Monoxide detectors, twice a year. Changing your batteries the same time that you change your clocks is a great way to remember to stay up to date on this important task.
3. Change the direction of your ceiling fans.
During the warmer months, you want your ceiling fan to spin counter clockwise, this helps to push cooler air back down into your home.
